About Debbie and Stephen

Welcome to Debbie's Place.

Locally know as the Irish Pub,Debbies,From Kuala Lumpur and Stephen From County Mayo in Ireland opened Debbie's Place in March 2005.

Many people ask us how we met so here is our brief story as told by Stephen.....

Having traveled around the world as a Chef on board the cuise liner QE2.I arrived in Singapore and was due for six weeks leave starting today.

Plans were in place for a three week trip to Koh Samui followed by three weeks in Ireland.However,due to some immigration "issues" in Singapore I missed my flight to Bangkok.

Wishing to exit Singapore as soon possible I look the first flight available to "anywhere".

Being at sea for some time I am used to filling out immigration forms at least twice a week with my eyes closed and this one was no different - only this time I need to know where I was!

First paiority - hotel - so I went to the hotel reservation desk found a place near the airport ready for a quick depart the next morning.Suddenly it occured to me that I didn't know where exactly I was so I politely asked this question to the hotel reservations girl.

She stared at me with a puzzled look and answered " You are in Penang sir".My reply was straight forward "I know I am in Penang,It was me who bought the ticket to get here,Actually what I mean is
WHAT COUNTRY AM I IN? "
I never knew that Penang was in Malaysia!

Anyhow,we continued talking, we laughed and exchanged stories.The name of the hotel reservations girl is DEBBIE.

Two years lated we maried.

BURGER-You haven't lived till you try out the best burger in Langkawi here at Debbie's.We Serve only 100% Steak Burgers Minced on the Permises to ensure Quality and Freshness. All Burgers are Cooked to der and Served with Coleslaw and Chips.
Our special malaysian dish is called - BEEF RENDANG and CHICKEN CURRY ( and specially made by Debbie).
We also have Irish stew,Fish and chips,Rib Eyes Steak,Bangers & Mash and many more...
We have more then 30 over cocktail.We also have Guinness on tap and also Tiger and Carlsberg.
